Hello Everyone!  I've not blogged for awhile it seems. I've been busy moving over different continents and absorbing the world around me. O.K... lets be honest, I've been a bit lazy with this!  Time for a catch up.

APRIL - ITALIA!
Bit of work and a bit of play!  First stop Naples.  Its been 20 years since my last visit and I was so excited to re-visit the place I lost my Espresso virginity in!  Naples didn't disappoint me that wonderful vibe of splendid chaos that only Naples has.  Been able to eat out and enjoy excellent food at an equally excellent price.  Its a Shopping heaven too!  Great designer boutiques down interesting quirky alley ways. The hotel we stayed in exceeded my expectations, wonderfully surprised.  The Romeo Hotel... Sexy, economic designer bliss!  I've always found Italian hotels a bit of a gamble and I'm usually left very disappointed. Not the case with the Romeo. What do you think?

April was a great time to visit Naples.  Not too busy!  As its a destination thats about taking in the culture its much more enjoyable when you're not fighting through huge summer holiday crowds!

Next Stop - SORRENTO!

Hotel Bellevue Syrene.

Beautiful, deteriorating Italian grandeur!  Thank you Bellevue Syrene for your wonderful grazing system making us particularly happy with our choice of hotel.  Grazing as in free gorgeous food and drinks served in the conservatory all day.... yes, all day long. This was a fantastic base to explore the Amalfi Coast from.

POSTANO -  Driving in such stunning views.  However once you're in Postano itself...  well, a bit disappointing really.  A bit dirty, shabby and in need of a major over-haul.  Stayed long enough to have a Gelato and then left Postano to itself.  I don't think I'll be back too soon.

NEXT....  CAPRI BABY!!!

Capri, we arrived in grand style...  via the ferry (ahem!).  Cheap n cheerful saving our much needed euro to survive one day in Capri.  Yes, multo expensivo!!!   When I arrived into the ferry dock at Capri I was totally underwhelmed to say the least.  Hang on... you're in a ferry dock  Rebecca! The town itself "pizazz" central!  Shops, shops, shops and more shops.  Making your metro sexual man think he's died and gone to metro sexual man heaven! Lots to do and see but I expect in the summer its heaving with the yacht massive!

uh-oh! Leaving the Amalifi Coast heading to a city I haven't fallen for yet, MILAN!

Visiting Milan to pray at the mecca of furniture design.  Otherwise known as Salone Del Mobile Milan.
ok lets go...  WARNING!!!  BOOK IN ADVANCE.  You've been duly warned or you will be stuck in a hell hole of a hotel at an exorbitant price.  Bad combo!  Every nice restaurant, bar and club will be fully booked leaving you waiting and waiting and waiting on the street.  Not making for a good time.  28 halls yes you read that right 28! I managed 7. The Interior Desires team had to dig deep and encourage each other marathon stylee, lots of "you can do its"  and "just one more, dig deep" moments.  However I will be going back in a more organised manner with more comfortable shoes and a packed lunch.  There were some great pieces which I'd love to share.

Loveliness!

AT LAST WE'RE LEAVING MILANO!  Off to Florence by the Italo High speed train. The only way to get from A to B train wise in Italy.

FLORENCE!

Florence is one of my favourite cities ever.  Classy, timeless, historic, elegance.  Italy at its best.  We stayed in the Fabulous Hotel Salviatino, Thank you Mr & Mrs Smith! 10 minutes from Florence by car.  Perched on a hill giving you an amazing vista of Firenze! Beautiful hotel in an incredible Villa with the most attentive staff in situ, making for an unforgettable stay.  I didn't want to leave infact I wanted to bring all my friends over to enjoy the ambience and an "Aperl Spritz" too, too fabulous darling!  Gorgeous, opulent splendour take a look!

And so I reluctantly left this wonderful place to return to normal duties in London.  Luckily we managed to enjoy some rare London sunshine on our return making our home coming a little bit less depressing.  Since returning Grazia magazine informed me that Kate Moss also enjoyed a stay in Il Salviatino recently. Except that Kate hired the whole hotel for a birthday bash.... as you do!  I told you it was a good place to share with friends!

I will be blogging again soon!  Theres some very special  shoes out there at the moment that need to be talked about!
